What is ACA Reporting?

The Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as ObamaCare, requires health insurance companies, employers, and some government entities to provide health insurance coverage information under IRS Code, IRS Section 6055 and 6056. The IRS has created tax information Forms 1094-B / Form 1095-B and Forms 1094-C / Form 1095-C to ensure compliance in reporting information about mandatory health insurance coverage.

Form 1095-B, Health Coverage

ACA Reporting Form 1095-B is used to report minimum essential health care coverage information to the IRS and to taxpayers, and therefore, are not accountable for individual shared responsibility payments. Eligible employer-sponsored plans, government-sponsored plans, individual market plans, and other coverage identified as minimum essential health care coverage by the Department of Health and Human Services are all included.
